The pharmacy managerâs role is to efficiently manage the operations of the pharmacy, including human resources functions and all financial aspects; to pr! ovide prescription product and appropriate service and consultation to every customer; actively participate in and supports clinical services; interact with other health care professionals; and to supervise pharmacy technicians, clerks, graduate interns, student interns and registered staff pharmacists in compliance with federal and state laws a as well as pharmacy policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Takes all steps required to fill prescriptions in compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures regarding the sale of pharmaceuticals
Assists with and responds in a courteous and professional manner to questions from customers and health care professionals in regards to knowledge of prescription and health related products and issues
Offers advice and professional consultation; acts as a role model to the pharmacy team; efficiently handles customer complaints; and directs pharmacy! team to exceed business and customer needs
Actively ! promotes and participates in a variety of clinical services and ensures participation of staff, advocating their use to improve patient care
Communicates and cooperates in a respectful manner with peers, subordinates, managers, physicians, and customers in all pharmacy related areas with courtesy, dignity and respect
Holds bottom line responsibility for the financial performance of the pharmacy, including assisting with the budgeting process, monitoring pharmacy reports, having the knowledge of direct competition; and implementing pharmacy promotions
Directs and ensures timely implementation of company policies, procedures and programs; and enforces professional and operational standards, including compliance with legal regulations
Participates in human resource related activities such as scheduling pharmacy associates, participating in hiring process, conducting performance appraisals, recommending promotions, etc.
Job Requir! ements:
Must have a college degree in Pharmacy (BS or Pharm D)
Must hold a valid pharmacist license for the state in which employment is offered
Ability to readily and positively adapt to changes in schedule specifications, and work priorities as the business and customer needs demand
Ability to cooperate with others and work as part of a team
Current Immunization certification or willing and able to complete certification as part of company on-boarding
