Pharmacist in Charge - L&L WSI

We currently have a Pharmacist In Charge position available at our WSI location in Caldwell, ID.
Overview:
Under general direction, ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for a single pharmacy; compounds and dispenses prescribed medications; may provide functional supervision of professional, paraprofessional, and support staff; and performs related duties as required.
Responsibilities:
Maintains records of all transactions of the pharmacy necessary to ensure accurate control over and accountability for all drugs as required by applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations; ensures legal operation of the pharmacy, including meeting all inspection and other requirements of state and federal laws, rules, and regu! lations governing pharmacy operations.
Process prescr! iptions by picking product from storage area, labeling product, counting and performing quality assurance checks as required. Maintain all prescription records. Partner with the Veterinarian's on prescription requests via, in person, e-mail, phone and faxed communications. Verify accuracy of pharmacy technician work.
Make recommendations to change processes, procedures, protocols, etc.
May provide functional supervision to professional, paraprofessional, and support staff including training, assigning duties, and providing input for performance evaluations.
Establish rapport with all levels of management and with co-workers at Western Stockmen's. Establish rapport with veterinarians and their office staff.
Become knowledgeable regarding the prescription drugs stocked and sold. Know the different strengths and sizes and what species each drug is approved for.
Learn and understand required system software.
Process customer! prescription orders, including reading and visually verifying small print, including customer identification.
Effectively resolve customer concerns, and prescription processing problems.
Identify merchandise locations and basic uses.
Interact and communicate effectively with associates, suppliers, veterinarians and their office personnel, with particular sensitivity to customer needs.
Interpret prescription information and translate into language appropriate for pharmacy system customer needs.
Prioritize work assignments and complete responsibilities within established work routines and procedures.
Recognize problems and discrepancies and use past experience and simple rules to select appropriate action.
Learn and utilize standard pharmacy abbreviations.
Other tasks as directed.
Education/Qualifications:
Understanding of applicable state and federal laws, rules and regulations; and ! compliance and quality assurance requirements.
Strong verbal a! nd written communication skills; speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Respond well to questions; Participate in meetings.
Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; Gather and analyze information skillfully; Develop alternative solutions; Work well in group problem solving situations;
Look for ways to improve and promote quality; demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
Understand business implications of decisions; display orientation to profitability; demonstrate knowledge of market and competition; align work with strategic goals; conserve organizational resources.
Must be a licensed Pharmacist with applicable state and federal certifications and licenses in good standing.
Background in animal health care, farming, veterinarian assistant, pharmacy technician helpful.
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
Able to use step ladder and carrying prod! uct at the same time.
