Ladd Family Pharmacy is a growing independent pharmacy with 20+ employees in Boise, ID serving the Treasure Valley and beyond. We specialize in quality compounding medications (sterile and non-sterile) across many disciplines and also have a full retail pharmacy operation. We pride ourselves on building relationships with customers and added value through advice on health and wellness .

Oversee all aspects of the retail pharmacy department with cross-over into the compounding department where applicable. The Retail Pharmacy Manager works under the direction of t! he Pharmacist Owners and Director of Operations to assist in p! harmacy operations by supporting the mission, vision, and values of Ladd Family Pharmacy. In addition to comprehensive pharmaceutical care through filling prescriptions, providing clinical services, and counseling patients, the pharmacy manager, above all, acts as a role model for the pharmacy team in overseeing and directing pharmacy operations.

The Retail Pharmacy Manager works to achieve business objectives by increasing sales and gross margins, managing equipment, limiting expenses/losses, directing operations to minimize wait times, monitoring department performance metrics, upholding proper pharmacy and general safety procedures and standards, ensuring pharmacy cleanliness, and partnering with management in developing and implementing store programs to help meet sales objectives and increase prescription volume

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintain inventory levels to company goals, rotates stock, complies with recalls, and utiliz! es return process
  • Receive, process and fill prescriptions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist in hiring and training of staff pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
  • Direct and monitor pharmacy personnel and performance by providing ongoing proactive, constructive feedback, training, and evaluations; make recommendations for hiring, promotion, and termination.
  • Help develop and participate in new programs and services for pharmacists to help their patients achieve good therapeutic outcomes.
  • Manage pharmacist's and technicians schedules and vacation requests.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures related to pharmacy operations.
  • Stay abreast of and manage compliance with all statutes, rules and regulations related to pharmacy practice, both State and Federal.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient Pharmacy department.
  • Review prescription drug pricing to achieve optimal gross profit margins.
  • Colle! ct appropriate information for billing of Medicaid and Medicare for DME! and supplies and reconcile claims to ensure adequate payment.
  • Ensure growth of the pharmacy department as a whole (retail and compounding)
  • Help develop and execute an agreed to growth plan in conjunction with the Business Manager, Pharmacist Owner and Pharmacy Educator
  • Provide in-service office visits once per month
  • Ensure that patients are counseled on all new prescriptions and on any refills where there has been a change in therapy or patient condition.
  • Be aware of and support promotional activity within the pharmacy and helps implement them in a timely manner.
  • Work with the Business Manager and Pharmacist Owner to develop annual budgets.
  • Address and resolve complaints from dissatisfied customers.
  • Meet with vendors of pharmacy related products.
  • Manage continuous quality improvement and quality assurance pharmacy programs.
  • Prioritize Pharmacy Department tasks and follow through to en! sure all tasks are completed in a timely manner. Including, but not limited, to cycle counts, inventory management, deliveries, and customer call programs, will-calls to customers.
Education and Experience:
  • PharmD
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in similar position
  • Compounding experience a plus, but not required
