Saint Alphonsus Medical Center - Ontario, Oregon
Duties and Responsibilities
Works closely with the Director of Pharmacy, the Staff Pharmacist on duty, and other Pharmacy Technicians. Establishes and maintains cordial and effective two-way communications and cooperative working relationships with all departments and personnel involved in direct patient care. Also, maintains cordial relationships with patients, other members of the community or general pu! blic such as doctor's offices, etc.
Assists the pharmacist! in providing pharmaceutical care to include, but not limited to, mixing of IVs, distribution of medication, screening phone calls/orders and alerting the pharmacist to patient-specific data indicating potential medication misadventure. Maintains a clean and safe environment for co-workers which includes preparing work area for next shift and using effective communication with oncoming shift. Distributes medication to the patient care areas via automated medication distribution or non-automated systems and is responsible for the knowledge to maintain these systems.

Qualifications
Certified Oregon PharmacyTechnician License from the Oregon Board of Pharmacy required.
Must have High School Degree or GED.
Minimum one year of clerical or related experience preferably in a hospital setting.
Six months to one year of hospital experience and overall knowledge of the general functioning of a hospital, particularly in relation to a hospital pharmacy.
Min! imum typing speed of 45 wpm and ability to use a 10-key adding machine.
Ability to plan and organize work and set priorities.
Must work effectively with minimal supervision.
Must be able to perform individual decision making to be effective in this job.
Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and efficiently with others.

Preferred Qualifications

Associates Degree strongly preferred.
Two+ years Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
One year experience with inpatient pharmacy preferred.
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred.
Shift
Full Time, Flexible, shifts: 0700-1900; or 1100-2300; or 0800-2000
