As a junior IT Infrastructure and Desktop Support Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our organization's IT infrastructure and providing technical support to end-users. Your primary focus will be on maintaining and troubleshooting the desktop environment, supporting network infrastructure, and assisting with various IT projects. This role requires a strong foundation in Infrastructure, Network, Windows and Linux operating systems.
Responsibilities:
As a junior IT Infrastructure and Desktop Support Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our organization's IT infrastructure and providing technical support to end-users. Your primary focus will be on maintaining and troubleshooting the desktop environment, supporting network infrastructure, and assisting with various IT projects. This role requires a strong foundation in Infrastructure, Network, Windows and Linux operating systems.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day technical support for end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
- Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems, software applications, and security patches on desktops and laptops.
- Respond to user inquiries and resolve technical issues in a timely manner, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the IT team to diagnose and resolve network connectivity problems, ensuring optimal network performance.
- Assist in managing and maintaining the company's server infrastructure, including Windows and Linux servers.
- Participate in the planning, implementation, and documentation of IT projects, such as system upgrades, network enhancements, and software deployments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory of hardware, software, and licenses.
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of IT policies and procedures to ensure data security and system integrity.
- Stay updated with the latest IT trends and technologies, proactively recommending improvements to enhance the overall IT infrastructure.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in IT infrastructure and desktop support.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with network technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routers, and switches.
- Proficiency in supporting desktop applications, including Microsoft Office suite and antivirus software.
- Basic understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and user management.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with end-users at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
Profil et compétences requises
Certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE) would be advantageous.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and network equipment (switches, routers, ..)
Experience with IT service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA)
