This is a part-time, up to 30 hour per week position.
Hours are Monday through Friday 6 hour shift between 9:00 am â€" 3:00 pm.
MAJOR FUNCTION
Working within a level of assigned authority and with the ability to make decisions to provide support the daily operations of the Student Health Pharmacy as a certified pharmacy technician.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibility, % of Time Essential/Marginal
Perform Inventory Duties by: 50% E
Ordering inventory supplies through an on-line vendor at the direction of the Student Health Pharmacist; Receiving and reviewing daily orders for accuracy; Entering items into a computer based inventory; Placing items in designated areas for dispensing; Maintaining a perpetual inventory system by reviewing daily dispensing and receiving.
Processing Insurance Reconciliations by: 30% E
Routinely auditing insurance payments for accuracy in reimbursement reporting discrepancies to the Student Health Financial team Following up with individuals to assist in the electronic filing of claims; Maintaining confidentiality of medical records pertaining to the Student Health Services: pharmacy, clinic, psychiatrist and nutritionist; Performing additional follow-up as assigned by the Financial team
Performing Other Routine duties by: 15% E
Partnering with the Student Health Pharmacist by assisting in maintaining a refill request file Assisting with the receiving of patients by providing customer service to those who are at the Student Health Pharmacy to pick up refills; Good knowledge of Pharmacy procedures dealing with confidentiality and file maintenance; Handling the distribution of mail to the Pharmacy and Student Health Financial team.
Contributing to team effort by: 5% M
Interfacing with the Student Health Financial team and other associated entities of the Student Health Services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Pharmacy Technician license by the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy.
Good knowledge of the confidentiality regulations pertaining to the maintenance of medical records.
Some knowledge of pharmaceutical insurance billing.
Ability to work independently and accomplish multiple tasks; adapting to changing operations.
Good communication skills and the ability to work with many different levels of employees and students,
Self motivator, ability to handle multiple tasks, and willing to take on extra duties as requested,
Good skills in office software and customer service
Employment may be contingent upon satisfactory completion of a criminal background and/or driving investigation.
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in a work environment and/or medical office.
Combination of education and experience equivalent to two years of experience working in Pharmacy or related field.
Experience working with students.
Some knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
